openairboston has garnered the enthusiastic support and tireless efforts of an outstanding leadership team who are currently donating their time to this important project.

Brian Worobey, CEO & President
Brian Worobey currently serves as the CEO and President of openairboston.net. Brian has been involved in openairboston.net since before its formation. He co-authored the Boston Foundation report, "Boston Unplugged", served on Mayor Menino's Wireless Task Force and helped start up openairboston.net by participating in its advisory board/kitchen cabinet and serving as its COO before taking over as CEO in January 2009.

Prior to joining OAB, Brian was Vice President and CIO of the Museum of Science, responsible for the creation and implementation of Museum-wide information systems strategy. Since he started at the Museum of Science in 1996, Brian was instrumental in creating strategic partnerships with leading technology companies, as well as providing strategic, architectural, and fundraising support for the Museum's technological and educational initiatives. The focus of his work included online learning, wireless applications and customer relationship management. Prior to joining the Museum, Brian was the Director of MBA Technology Services at Harvard Business School and Assistant Director for Network Services at Boston College.

Brian graduated from Clark University in 1984 with a B.A. in Management. He is involved in the Massachusetts Technology Leadership Council and served on the steering committee for its Tech Trends events, and writes on wireless technology in education. In addition, he is a performing musician, playing saxophone in area R&B bands. Brian is the proud father of a 2-year old daughter.

Pamela D.A. Reeve, Chairman
Pam was appointed by Mayor Thomas Menino to create openairboston.net and implement the vision of the Wireless Task Force. Pam was a founder and CEO of Lightbridge, Inc.(NASDAQ: LTBG), a provider of software and services to the wireless industry, and the leading internet payment gateway company. Prior to her 15 years at Lightbridge, Ms. Reeve was an executive with The Boston Consulting Group for eleven years. Earlier experience includes real estate finance and development and program manager of a national project funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities.

Pam is lead director of American Tower Corporation, a director of NMSS Communications, a trustee and former chair of the Massachusetts Technology Leadership Council; on the boards of The Commonwealth Institute, The Mass Network Communications Council and is Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Massachusetts General Physicians Organization. She is on the advisory boards of Sovereign Bank and The Bentley College Graduate School. She holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia and a masters in business administration, with honors, from Harvard Business School.

Nancy Piotrowski, Financial Manager
Nancy Piotrowski acts as Financial Manager for openairboston.net through Employment Resources, Inc. Employment Resources is a 501 (c) 3 that provides business services up to and including CFO and HR Benefits Administration enabling non-profit organization's to maintain their autonomy and privacy.

Nancy has an MBA from Franklin Pierce College and an undergraduate degree from Emmanuel College. She has worked for not for profit corporations for more than 20 years in both the Massachusetts and New Hampshire service delivery systems.

Gabriel Fishman, Project Manager
Prior to joining openairboston, Gabriel Fishman spent a year serving as an AmeriCorps*VISTA at Castle Square Tenants Organization in the South End of Boston, where he managed a WiFi network for a 500-unit housing development. Gabriel also started several programs offering free computer repair and computer training programs for low-income families. Previously, Gabriel worked in IT and research for a foundation in Hartford, CT. He attended Bard College at Simon's Rock.

Aaron Kaplan, Software Develpment, Network Design
A native of Vienna, Austria, Leon Aaron Kaplan studied mathematics at the University of Vienna and computer science at the Technical University of Vienna. A child of the internet boom, he has been a Unix user and programmer since 4.3BSD-Lite / ~ FreeBSD 1.x. Since 1997, Aaron has worked for major telecoms, IBM, ESA, banks and the oil industry mostly doing Unix consulting/programming. Aaron is the founder of the FunkFeuer.at, the first fully meshed, free wireless community network in Austria.

Aaron works at nic.at, the Austrian domain registry. There he is responsible for setting Austria's national Computer Emergency Response Team.

Sage Radachowsky, Technology and Installation
Sage Radachowsky has been working on wireless communication using Wi-Fi equipment since 2001, when he did the initial RF engineering and equipment acquisition for the Nepal Wireless project in the Himalayas. The project now connects thousands of people in dozens of villages. Sage has worked as a software developer, creating IT management utilities for the VAX/VMS and Windows NT operating systems. Sage has done electrical engineering for the MIT Solar Electric Vehicle Team, creating the main control board of the current car. He is currently working on control electronics for microbial fuel cells. He has been involved with OAB since April 2008.

Sage works as a carpenter in Jamaica Plain. He holds an MA in Sociology from the University of Connecticut. He speaks Nepali and builds small guitars.

The openairboston cabinet is made up of some of the most accomplished figures in the telecommunications and technology industries in the Greater Boston area. This team provides advice and support to the openairboston leadership.

Stephen Pearse, Cabinet Co-Leader
A proven leader in the IT and Telecom space for over 29 years, Steve is a principal at Yucatan Rock and Common Angels. Stephen was CEO of Cyras Systems which was sold to Ciena Corporation for $2.7B. Before starting his entrepreneurial career, Stephen was EVP and General Manager of Bay Networks' (now Nortel) Internet/Telecom Business Group, where he also managed the merger between Bay Networks and Nortel Networks. Previously, Stephen served as Senior Vice President of Engineering, Operations and IT at Time Warner Telecom, and Vice President of Technology at Sprint.

Steve sits on the boards of C4RJ, Sereniti, Inc. and Emerson Hospital. Steve holds an MBA from MIT Sloan School, an MSEE from Stevens Institute of Technology, and a BSME from Georgia Tech. He is a private pilot, Master SCUBA diver, mountain climber and technology enthusiast.

Ash Dyer, Cabinet Co-Leader
Ash conducts business and financial planning for openairboston, and assists with business development and strategic partnerships. He is an expert in business planning, financial analysis, technology selection and roadmapping, network engineering, and project management. In addition to his role at openairboston, Ash is an Associate with Communications Media Advisors, LLC, a boutique consulting and investment firm specializing in TMT. At CMA, Ash provides clients with quick, detailed strategic advice through a rigorous analytical framework and CMA’s proprietary data sources, enabling clients to develop market-leading products and services and surpass the competition. Prior to joining CMA, Ash served as the Program Manager for Cambridge Public Internet, the City of Cambridge’s wireless Internet project, where he managed partnerships and strategic initiatives. Ash has conducted projects for Fortune 500 companies, startups, federal, state, and local government, and investors.

Ash holds a Bachelors of Science in Aerospace Engineering from MIT. In his spare time, he races sailboats all over the world.

James Daniell, RFI/RFP, strategic development
Jim is a Partner of Echelon Ventures, an early stage technology venture firm. He has served on numerous boards of both private and public companies, has raised over $100m for his own companies, as well as managed M&A and investment transactions totaling over $1B. Prior to joining Echelon Ventures, Jim Daniell was interim President of and an investor in Integrated Fuel Cell Technologies. Prior experience includes President and CEO of Celarix and OrderTrust. Prior to that Jim served as chief operating officer of AT&T's Network Commerce Services, where he oversaw the company's Web-hosting, Web-connectivity, e-commerce, call center solutions and managed connectivity solutions divisions. While at AT&T, Jim also led the firm’s business development team that did many deals around the globe and he led the strategic $150M LP investment in AT&T Ventures II.

Jim is a board member of GateRocket and of TimeTrade Systems, a Trustee and the Treasurer of the Massachusetts Technology Leadership Council, and an Overseer of the Boston Museum of Science. Jim is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University, where he earned a doctorate in electrical and computer engineering, and of the University of Connecticut, where he earned a joint bachelor's and master's degree in computer science and engineering.

David Epstein, RFI/RFP, operations, fundraising
David is President and CEO of PTel. David has over twelve years experience in successfully running and operating Internet access and telecommunications companies, managing over one million subscribers in the dial-up and dedicated ISP, cable modem, cellular re-sale, paging, local and long distance, DSL, Wi-Fi, and VoIP space. He founded Internet Service Provider, JavaNet, which was acquired by RCN in 1998. As President of RCN’s Internet Division, David was responsible for all aspects of its Internet business including product development and support, as well as the integration of six ISPs totaling 350,000 customers. He then grew this base by 43% in a little over a year to more than 500,000 customers. He also oversaw the steady migration of existing dial-up customers to RCN’s high-speed access provided over RCN’s state-of-the-art fiber optic network.

In 2000, David was named CEO of Connecticut Telephone, which he transitioned from a pure re-seller of telecommunications services, to a facilities based broadband CLEC based in Hartford, CT. Most recently, David served as President of BroadVoice, a VoIP service provider he founded in 2003. He attended Simon’s Rock College of Bard.

John C. Petrillo, innovation process, market segmentation, fundraising
John C. Petrillo has played a leading role in the telecommunication industry for more than 30 years. As Executive Vice President at AT&T, John supervised the launch of new telecommunication products and services and was lead negotiator on many critical global and domestic telecom business relationships. He also held many significant operating positions and led strategic initiatives including the development of business strategies in the telephone services, cable and Internet industries.

John’s educational credits include a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and a legal degree from Brooklyn Law School.

Michael Tattersall, Network Design Modeling
Michael Tattersall is the Founder and CEO of Stratsoft LLC a firm that specializes in geo-economic analysis, particularly for communications infrastructure initiatives. Stratsoft is a management consultancy that develops data-driven systems and tools for planning and decision-support. It has worked extensively within all forms of wireless communications as well as wireline, satellite and terrestrial broadcast, and cable television.

Michael started as a Merchant Banker in London before co-founding a technology consultancy in the UK, then becoming Managing Director of a boutique management consultancy in the US before then founding Stratsoft. He is British and makes his home with his wife and two children outside Boston, MA.

Nicholas Vanzelfde, pilot project management
Nicholas is the founder of Communications Media Advisors, Inc. Prior to forming the company, Nick was a Director at Altman Vilandrie & Company. He was the company’s first employee and is the head of AV&Co’s wireless practice. His clients include major national operators, rural ILECs and wireless providers, and financial investors. As part of AV&Co, Nick has completed over 30 engagements in the wireless broadband space and is also an expert in legal and regulatory, broadband deployment, and consumer marketing. He has led nearly 150 consulting projects for telecommunications and high tech clients, including municipalities, service providers, equipment and software vendors, and investors. Prior to AV&Co, Nick was with CSMG, a telecom strategy consulting firm from 1999 to 2002.

Nick holds a BS in Chemical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and is a CFA charterholder. While at MIT, Nick was captain of both Varsity Swimming and Varsity Water Polo teams, and was an Academic All-American. In addition, Nick is on the board of directors of the MS2 program at Phillips Academy in Andover, MA.
